Tony Soprano is an excellent role in The Soprano show.

The Sopranos all pursue their desires without reference to the price paid by others. They flaunt the rules of society and justify themselves by saying society isn't fair anyway. They are psychopaths rationalizing their failings by forgetting others have the same rights and aspirations they have.

Psychopaths never see themselves as wrong, only as wronged. They have no ability to empathize with others yet use a normal person's sympathy to their own advantage. They are evil simply because they have no concept of anything good beyond themselves.
This brilliant series develops correctly from a moral point of view; it's a well constructed tale that ends as it ought to end. My only objection is that the conclusion might be too subtle. It's tempting to sympathize with Tony Soprano, but we must not; we must steel ourselves and hate what he is. """
